Awesome KVM
I have used many KVMs over the years, some of them many times more expensive, high-end devices, but none of them (since the DVI, HDMI, Display Port, etc. era) worked as well as this one. The main problem with digital video switching on PC is that the GPU will disable the output when the KVM is switched to another input (usually due to HDCP restrictions), but not reinitialize it when switched back. This KVM gets around that by tricking the GPU into thinking the display is still there...and does so flawlessly with all my machines. So far I've had no problems and the device works exactly as advertised.
I encountered only one minor issue, which is easy to get around. If you use the dedicated mouse or keyboard USB ports, many of the advanced features (extra buttons on the mouse) won't work. However, just plugging these into the normal passthrough ports works fine. It just takes a second or two after a switch to remount them. Not usually a big deal.

Customer review : Logitech G5 Mouse Doesn't Work on Mouse Port
Overall, I am quite pleased with this KVM switch. Everything including the HDMI audio works as advertised.
The one major fly in the ointment is that it appears that high update gaming mice like the Logitech G5 that I have do not seem to work in the dedicated mouse port. The switch has two dedicated USB ports on the back, one for the keyboard and one for the mouse. When I got my first switch and plugged in the G5, the cursor would only move in the horizontal direction when I moved the mouse vertically. I thought I had bad luck and it had a bad USB port.
To Amazon's credit, their service was excellent and I got a replacement unit right away. I plugged the G5 into the new unit and had the exact same problem. The chances of me getting two different units with the exact same issue seems very unlikely as a random failure, so I speculate that to save bandwidth on the shared USB 2.0 line they made some assumptions about the mouse data rate which don't work for high...
