Hitachi WH18DSAL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Impact Driver - My Personal Recommendation
Great driver
I typically do all my own maintenance whether it be on my vehicles or my house. I've had a dewalt cordless drill driver for years and was pretty happy with it except for the fact that it rips a phillips screw head apart if it hits resistance. It's a great drill but not so good at the driver part. I got this drill driver for Christmas over a year ago and now its my go to driver. Much better control which is much easier on the screw heads, very powerful and holds a charge for a long time. I think I've only charged the battery twice. Mind you I dont use it every day but thats the beauty of it. When I grab my old DeWalt driver, the battery is always on its last leg. So I typically grab the drill and set the other battery on the charger with hopes it'll be close to ready by the time the first one dies. I've had the opportunity to try out a number of Impact drivers. I'm a General Contractor and have used this Hitachi for everything from drywall to Decks and everything in between. This gun outperforms most guns including obviously the Ryobi, Dewalt,and Rigid guns of the same type. I will be trying out a Milwaulkee and Makita next to see how they compare.
This gun is powerful, Holds a charge for quite a long time, and rarely lags. These types of guns are naturally loud so to expect a quite impact driver just doesn't make sense.
The gun stops suddenly when power runs out so don't be surprised when that happens, its time for a recharge.
If you want an 18 volt lithium gun worth the money, It's worth it!!!
