Worked in my 2010 iMac
The DVD went bad in my 27 inch iMac. Couldn't find any esata ones that were available from the usual mac places. I knew this that the same dimensions and I checked the iMac in system info and confirmed it looked to be the same company just 1 number off the in the model number. I just had to pop off the plastic tray cover and it worked perfectly. The iMac sees it as a normal Apple drive.

Customer review : 12.7mm CD/DVD RW Drive + Silverstone SG09B Micro ATX Case
We just finished a custom computer build for a customer. We used Silverstone 12.7 mm SATA Interface Slot Load 8X CD/DVD RW Drive and Silverstone Tek Micro-ATX, DTX, Mini-ITX Steel Body Mini Tower Computer Case, Black SG09B.
We noticed a few people's reviews talked about the issue with the cd ejecting. When we just did the build for our Client we ran into the same issue.
The way to fix this is to remove the front plate of the Optical drive before mounting the optical drive into the SG09B case. There is 2 clips on the top front of the drive. Push them in carefully and pull the front plate forward. Carefully disengage the clips on the side. You are now ready to install the optical drive into the SG09B case.
The Optical drive works fine. Does what it is suppose to. CD's eject the right way now as well.
